1. FIND A PLACE TO RENT

 

Hanoi is divided into 10 inner Districts, 1 town and 18 outer Districts. Most expats live in the central Districts: Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Dong Da, Cau Giay and Tu Liem, with a few living over the river in Long Bien (a cheaper and more local alternative) or in Thanh Xuan.

 

1.1. Hoan Kiem District is the downtown and commercial centre of Hanoi. Mainly serviced apartments are found here. You can find a full utility serviced apartment in The Old Quarter, near Hoan Kiem Lake, Big Church, Hanoi Opera House, etc... Or a luxury apartment in Pacific Place Hanoi.  You will have difficulty in finding private houses for rent in Hoan Kiem district, because the amount of houses in Hoan Kiem District is not much, and low vacancy rates.

1.2. Hai Ba Trung District – to the south of the lake – is more of a business district. You can find a full utility Serviced Apartment near Thien Quang Lake, Thong Nhat Park, or a luxury apartment in Vincom Center Hanoi. Beautiful apartments in Kinh Do Tower ( 93 Lo Duc street) or Apartments in Hoa Lu Building ( 10 Hoa Lu street) also may be one of your good choice. But also quite difficult to find an available private house in Hai Ba Trung.
